Musical Kids

Service Description

Musical Kids is a group music program for Five and Six year olds, focuses on introducing age-appropriate music theory, introduction to instruments and music-themed activities. This group is designed to be a little more advanced than the Mini Music Makers (3 and 4 year olds) to focus more and delve into more age-appropriate music theory, introduction to instruments and music-themed activities. Across six weeks, our Musical Kids will be introduced to percussive instruments, singing, string instruments (Ukulele and Guitar), Piano and musical games. Through age-appropriate worksheets, games, practical sessions on instruments and musical songs, participants will be introduced to key concepts of music (Including Pitch, Dynamics, Texture, Structure, Expressive Techniques, Rhythm and Instruments) in an age-appropriate way. Furthermore, throughout the program, students will be given activities, colouring in and musical fun to complete at home. By exploring their musical side, participants will also begin to connect music to emotions and situations, expand on the five Early Childhood Learning Outcomes (Learning Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity, Learning Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, Learning Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing, Learning Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners and Learning Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators) and of course, make connections and meet other like-minded young individuals, sharing their musical journey and collaborating on tasks.
